Intermission
I guess I should apologize for the fairly-common theme here of only managing about one post per month for awhile on this blog. Nearly a year and we've only made it through seven chapters of Luke? That's some pretty slow going!
I originally thought it would be easy to maintain this blog and my main blog. But early in the year, I started being more active in the blogging world using my Real Life persona... So that means adding one more blog to write (I maintain one with a small group of friends), and a number of friends' blogs to keep up on and interact with. For the most part, this blog is the one that gets the short end of the stick.
I'm not giving up on the Bible Study aspect of this blog, because I think even just a post or two a month can garner some interesting discussion. Who knows, in 2008, I might even branch out and push some discussion of other Bible-related topics.
What I value the most in Real Life Bible studies -- or "small groups," as we often call them -- is the aspect of community. For me, it's not about sitting around teaching from a book of the Bible. It's about the dialogue, and getting to know each other much more personally and in a deeper way. With a blog on the Internet, that can be difficult to do, because we really don't always know who is here!
That being said, it's time to identify yourselves! I know we've had regular discussions with Desmond and Flutterby. Phyllis makes her presence known on occasion. Surfie used to comment regularly, but hasn't in quite some time. So who is here? Who stops by?

I actually just enjoy talking about the Bible; I've learned tons from some of the discussions we've had here. Some of y'all have some really sharp insights, from perspectives that I've never seen before. . .
Plus, the friendship thing. Pseudonymous as it may be. . .

Hey, a group of three is big enough for me! According to Statcounter, there are still a handful of other people that stop by... But they've probably learned that they only need to do so once every few weeks!
I come by periodically. I've never commented, but I do find the discussions interesting.
Well, now see, this is how dependable I am: showing up with a comment nearly a month after this post. But in my defense, I noticed it was more of a once-a-month part of your blog so it got pushed to the back of my mind. But I do enjoy the discussions.
Well, I probably drop by here and peruse every couple of months or so. I have yet to make a comment here though goodness knows if you catch me at the right time in the right mood I could certainly write comments of exceeding length here.
I like to stop in about twice a month, but don't think I've commented on here....
I hope that you keep this up. I really enjoy it. Fresh perspectives instead of just chewing on what I've always been fed.

Speaking of which... My month off is up. Must be time for a new post here!
